I started out liking this story. Thinking she was "in love" with one brother she discovers she is very attracted to the other. Of course, she hasn't seen her first love in 10, count them 10 years. He went from a boy to a man - suppose he has changed much. She didn't think so. She designs jewelry and her business is about to go under. She owes more money than she makes and things are looking really bad. Her mother becomes engaged to the father of her first love. He has been married 4 times before. A very successful businessman.Ok, the story is moving on when everyone is supposedly coming to town for the wedding. She is finally going to see her love after 10 years and she wonders if he even remembers her! Oh yeah, all the letters, phone calls, etc. NOT...she has her head in the clouds. The brother, Jed, is also a very successful businessman but his business is in crisis because of a hostile takeover. So he has a lot on his mind. His father, who abandoned him and his mother when he was 6 and didn't bother to be in his life since then, wants him to be best man! Man this guy has a set of balls! For some reasons, he decides to go to the wedding and get away from his company and try to sort things out and see if he can survive.
Now, first, the heroine thinks he should just forgive his father and move on after all, he said he was sorry! R U KIDDING ME? Why is she even butting in where she doesn't belong or even know all the facts. then his brother, the one she is in love with, slept with his half-brothers fiancé and that ended that relationship. OH but it was all his fault, he upset the girl and she went running to him, so it wasn't his fault he had sex with her. AGAIN, R U KIDDING ME? Well, she sides with the sex-with-the-brother's-fiancé brother.
The hero can't seem to catch a break. Why he even wants to speak to this girl is beyond me. Her life is an absolute mess yet she knows everything he should do in his life. I don't like her and I don't know why he bothers. I got so irked at this character that I quit reading. I hope she marries the younger brother and he gives her as much trouble as his father gave his 4 wives. I couldn't stand these people.

Tori and Jed's story. Tori's mother is getting married to Jed's father. Jed and Gabe are brothers. Tori has had a thing for Gabe for 10 years and now her mother is marrying his father. Tori came across as flying by her pants, impulsive and stubborn . Her has father issues and is angry after his brother Gabe slept with his fiancee. And now Jed falls for flighty Tori? Tried to like this book, but really didn't feel for the heroine.
Jeb has major issues festering from childhood. Tori is her own worst enemy. Together, they need someone to smack them upside their heads and instill some sense. But their problems are understandable and all too human.
Overall, the story is sweet, but a bit disjointed. It's difficult to see how these two really connect. Jeb's a bit of a jerk and Tori's rather wishy washy. They're sniping at one another one moment, then kissing the next. There's no leading up to the romance; it's just plopped in there.
That said, the editing is clean and the story flows pretty well. If you're looking for an enjoyable, if not memorable, read, then this will do.

Ten years later Tori still carries feelings of some sort for Gabe. Edward has two sons Jed is the oldest and his relationship with his father is very strained. Jed was engaged to Evelyn and Gabe sleeps with her causing a riff between Jed and Gabe. Impending wedding between Tori's mother and Edward, old bitter feelings surface making the impending nuptials strained. Tori about to lose her home, her business, and her heart. A treasure hunt choreographed by Tori has the whole town of Moon Lake searching for gems Tori has buried. Tensions run high. Will Tori and Jed become closer? Will Gabe and Evelyn only be just friends? Love is in the air. Read to find out what transpires between these two couples and who claimed the treasure.
Tori is struggling with her shop running in the red, the bills and creditors constantly try to get money that she just doesn't have. The last ditch effort to her plan is a treasure hunt with the box of expensive jewelry she plans to use as a promotional for her shop. Her mother has just informed her that she is getting married in 2 weeks and she wants Tori to oversee everything and design the rings for herself and her new husband. If that's not bad enough, the man her mother is marrying is the father of a young man she had a crush on for years after they met one summer and of course he will be at the wedding to. What is a person supposed to do? This is a cute story with a happy ending. Fans of this writer will enjoy this story.
I liked this book well enough, but I didn't love it. I thought the whole situation between the main two characters happened a bit too fast. One minute the despised each other, and then the in next, they were declaring their undying love. And this all takes place within a weeks time. I loved the interaction of the main character and her best friend. They felt genuine. I did feel really bad for Jed though. It's not easy to watch your father move on and forget you even existed, and then to watch as he dotes on his second son...now that's just sad. I was very happy to see, though that through everything that all the characters went through, they were all able to move past the hurt and sorrow and find some true happiness in their lives.
This is a great read. The story line is believable and flows along without getting bogged down in massive scenery descriptions (Which is my pet hate) or the emotions of the characters. This is a book that keeps you interested, is not difficult to read, makes you smile and pulls at your heart strings as you imagine the things similar that have happened in your own life. I will continue to read others books by this author, they are well written.
